Tryst with poetry
I Believe. Beauty is a step of the divine, a volume of verse that features poetry by school children of Activity High School, Campion School, Queen Mary School, J. B. Petit High School for Girls, The Cathedral and John Connon School and students of the Writer’s Bug, a forum that helps encourage creativity in children was launched at a poetry festival between October 26 and 29, 2017 at the book store Kitab Khana. The volume highlights some of the poetry that was presented at the 2015 and 2016 festivals.
Organized under the auspices of 100 Thousand Poets for Change (100TPC), at the launch, chief guest and industrialist Urvi Piramal told the audience about her philanthropic goals that include "positively impacting one in every five people globally,” according to a note from educationist Rati Wadia, who conducted the morning session on October 29. The poetry festival "The miracle of life” that followed the launch was dedicated to the memory of campaigner of rights for the disabled and active participant of all five previous festivals, Shanoor Forbes (since deceased), mentions Wadia. Forbes’ cousin, advocate Navroz Seervai was the chief guest of the morning.

The morning’s activities included a performance on drums by Vichit Mody of Greenlawns School, and an expression of the "theme of miracles through poetry, dance, music, song and a spectacular play,” directed by author Katie Bagli, who has also illustrated the volume of verses, notes Wadia.
Reshad Forbes, Shanoor’s son wrote in his poem "On the counterbalancing of human love and tragedy”: There is nothing as stalwart as familial love and the caring affections/Of a beautiful mother who has now been embraced by the light/And has been immortalized in the hearts of her beloved ones/And friends from near and far.
Since 2011, 100TPC has been working with poets, writers, artists, musicians… to help organize events around the world for peace, justice and sustainability, notes their website.
