Senior citizens’ wedding
They had first met over 50 years ago and become fond of each other. A few months back when Gool Balsara, now 63 and widowed, came to reside at the WZO Trust Funds Bai Maneckbai P. B. Jeejeebhoy Senior Citizens’ Centre in Navsari, she once again came in contact with resident Rumi Postwalla, 66, and love blossomed anew. The couple wed at the Centre on September 16, 2016 in the presence of 160 persons. This was the second nuptials celebrated at the senior citizens’ home, the earlier one being that of Havovi and Minoo Kabraji in September 2015, states Dara M. The engagement and madavsaro took place on the morning of the same day, with enthusiastic residents and citizens of Navsari present. The wedding was solemnized that evening in the foyer of the Centre with the traditional ashirwad performed by Ervads Zubin Amroliwalla and Keki Dastoor in the presence of Dastur Kaikhushru Dastur Meherjirana, family members of the couple, co-residents, the administration, staff and a few guests, notes the email.
Following the nuptials, the merrymaking shifted to Jamshed Baug where a sumptuous lagan nu bhonu comprising patra ni machhi, chicken in cashew gravy, prawn pulao dar and kulfi was catered by Sunnoo Kasad of Navsari.
The wedding function was organized by Sharmin Tamboly, administrator of the Centre and her team with encouragement and the active participation of trustees Bachi and Dinshaw Tamboly.
The entire expenses for the event were borne by WZO Trust Funds, mentioned Yazdi Kasad in a WhatsApp message to Parsiana.
