“Textures are my thing”
One of the most spiritual photographs I have ever seen is the one on the cover of Parsiana ("Textures are my thing,” August 21, 2016) by ace photographer Pallon Daruwala.
He has captured the time of day when one prays the Khorshed and Meher Nyaish. The sun’s rays from a window fall on the empty chair, where a priest would sit and pray. The rays in a perfect vertical symmetrical line completely cover the chair, giving it a peaceful, holy look, more so with the upward rising of the smoke from the small afarganiu. So beautifully conceived is this artistic portrayal that I could virtually feel and sense the aroma of sukhad and loban. This peaceful vibrating holiness is so well depicted by Daruwala, and for that I salute him!
