Zoroastrianism is the religion propagated by the Prophet Zarathushtra. Parsi denotes a member of a small community of Zoroastrians (or Zarathushtis) who migrated from Persia to India to escape Muslim persecution. Please do not confuse the two!
Unfortunately, Bombay Parsis have adopted principles of exclusivity and backward looking orthodoxy, which a good friend calls lokhan no dholio (bed of iron) philosophy, which is detrimental to the community and prevents it from being forward looking. The community is hemorrhaging members, but still doesn’t see the writing on the wall and like the dodo will eventually become self-deservedly extinct.
