Call to madressa alumni
The Sir Jamsetjee Jejeebhoy Zarthoshti Madressa and Mulla Feroze Madressas, managed by the Bombay Parsi Punchayet have completed 150 years of offering studies in Ancient Iranian languages like Avestan, Pahlavi, Pazand, Cuneiform, etc. During these 150 years, a galaxy of scholars has passed through the portals of these institutions, enriching the field of Iranian studies.
To celebrate this historic occasion it has been decided to publish a souvenir to commemorate the sesquicentennial. We request all students of the Madressas, past and present, to contribute papers/articles on any Iranian subject of their interest viz. Zoroastrian religion, Iranian history, art, culture, philological study of Iranian languages such as Avestan, Pazand, Pahlavi, etc.
Contributors are requested to inform Zarin Marfatia by email at zarinjam@yahoo.com at the earliest and submit their pieces by December 31, 2014. The contributions shall be subject to scrutiny/selection by the committee.
We look forward to receiving a good response from the alumni of these institutions on this historic occasion.
