Subscribers’ comments
Subscribers offer their views on Parsiana’s strengths and weakness on the subscription renewal form returned to us. With their consent we publish their comments so that their thoughts may be known to a wider readership. Unless another name is affixed to the remarks, Parsiana assumes they are written by the subscriber whose name appears on the form.
Parsiana’s strengths: Coverage of Parsis and Zoroastrians throughout the world and columns like Readers’ Forum, e.g. the letter "Marginalized Maoists” by Kobad Ghandy. Shortcomings: Endless accounts of conflicts regarding WAPIZ (World Alliance of Parsi Irani Zarthoshtis), burial and Doongerwadi rituals, inclusion of Khojeste Mistree’s viewpoints in nearly every issue. Let’s move on and multiply.

Parsiana covers information on Zoroastrians worldwide. Good reading material. Information on births, deaths should be in larger font for the elderly to read.

We will examine the possibility of increasing the "Milestones” point size.

You report unbiased news. I wish your birth/death columns could be alphabetical for easy reference. M. D. FORBES

The editors reply:
Both formats have their advantages. Often people search for birth, marriage and death announcements by date rather than name. Also, the information is provided/acquired in a chronological form. Reworking the material would result in inadvertent errors creeping in despite diligent proof checking. For a small publication with limited personnel resources this would prove a substantial additional burden.
The articles are well written and give a lot of information. T. C. IRANI

Good magazine, worth reading. Hope our youngsters are reading it and adopting the proper Zoroastrian faith because they are our standard bearers for the future. Shortcomings: None SHAHRUKH R. KERMANI

Addendum
In the article "The Captains’ contribution” (Parsiana, January 7, 2013), some of the information provided was gleaned from Dr Nawaz B. Mody’s book Women in India’s Freedom Struggle in the chapter entitled "Perin Captain: from Dadabhai to Mahatma Gandhi.” Parsiana regrets omitting mention of this reference.
