Were you lonely?

Were you lonely

Ahura Mazda

before

the Creation?

In the North

the dark solitude of the night.

Beneath

the vast expanse of time.

Movement

as the sun skims across the firmament.

Harmony

when the stars choose to sing.

The kingdom

beyond the waters lay waiting to be born.

But no one to share a joke with

to scratch you in the middle of your back

to scorn,

to praise.

Were you lonely?
