Minority hopefuls

The Bombay Parsi Punchayet has recommended the names of trustee Armaity Tirandaz and social activist Phiroze Amroli­walla as the Zoroastrian representatives to the National Commission for Minorities, a post left vacant following the expiry of Dr Mehroo Bengalee’s term.

The government now has to decide whether to accept either one of the nominations or appoint someone else.
