In "The other side” (Editorial Viewpoint, Parsiana, May 21, 2009) we mentioned that women are denied the right to vote in the elections for the Iranian Zoroastrian Anjuman (IZA). We are informed that they are entitled to vote but may not stand for elected office. There is a move, however, to permit them to contest. At present they can only be co-opted on the General Committee.
According to the IZA memorandum "any Irani Zarathushti who has completed the age of 18 years… on a payment (can) three months before the election of the General Committee make an application to the Anjuman to be registered as a voting member of the anjuman on the prescribed form signed by him/her.”
Parsiana regrets the error but notes that if the leadership of the Anjuman would have agreed to speak to the Press, the mistake would not have occurred.

In our Readers’ Forum column ("Shahrukh Kathawalla” Parsiana, May 21, 2009) it was mentioned that jurist Shahrukh Kathawalla has been appointed as a judge of the Sessions Court. He has been appointed as a judge of the Bombay High Court. Parsiana deeply regrets the error.

In the article "A risky business” (Parsiana, June 7, 2009) it was erroneously mentioned that all the television channels obtain voter figures from the Indian Market Research Bureau. The agency that provided data to all channels is A. C. Nielsen. The error is regretted.
