Wreaths for Feroze Gandhi

When Rahul Gandhi, All India Congress Committee general secretary was in Allahabad on August 28, 2008, he took some time off from his busy political schedule to visit his grandfather Firoze Gandhi’s grave, Rustom Gandhi informed Parsiana via e-mail. Along with close family members — uncle Rustom, aunt Shehernaz, cousin Dr Yazad Gandhi and the latter’s wife Farah — Rahul left Circuit House with a small cavalcade and limited security cover since this was a purely personal occasion.

Both Rahul and Rustom laid wreaths on Feroze Gandhi’s grave at Mumfordganj, following which the family stood there in pensive silence for some minutes.
The cavalcade then returned to Circuit House where Rahul had lunch with his close kin and spent about an hour with them talking about events of the past and recalling happy moments spent with the family, the e-mail reveals.
The Indian Express of August 29, 2008 reports that Rahul also visited his ancestral home, Swaraj Bhawan after lunching with his family.
