Erratum
In our Editorial Viewpoint "An objective study” (Parsiana, August 7, 2008) we had mentioned that the money accrued from transfer of tenancy by the Bombay Parsi Punchayet (BPP) is used for repairs, maintenance and other charitable objectives. Rustom Hormuzdiyar who served on the BPP’s Housing Committee states the amount is treated as a security deposit which is refundable when the licencee leaves and therefore cannot go into the corpus or the revenue account of the BPP. Only the interest earned is used for charitable purposes. Parsiana regrets the error.
