11th Annual Games

The Zoroastrian Sports Committee (ZSC) — the official sports committee of the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA) — has announced that the 11th Zarathushti Games will he held in San Diego, California, July 2-6, 2008.
Welcoming Zoroastrian athletes from around the world, the ZSC estimates that the 2008 Games will see more participation than ever before. The games include volleyball, track events, basketball, table tennis.

The ZSC committee comprises sportspersons as well as academicians who savor the enthusiasm that the Games bring to the fore. Among them are president Niaz Kasravi, vice president Bijan Pourjamasb, treasurer Behnaz Dianat, sports director Behrouz Mehrkhoda­vandi, public relations Tehran Ghasri, sports coordinator Arsham Dianat, secretary Yassaman Farin, website designer and developer Ramin Shahriari, technical advisor Shahram Ghandeharizadeh and founder Bijan Khosraviani — godfather of ZSC who put up his own money to fund the first event, came up with the ZSC bylaws and recruited other individuals to join him in promoting sports amongst Zarathushti youth, as notes the ZSC website www.zathletics.com
