Houston report

With all expenses for the Seventh World Zoroastrian Congress settled, its co-chair Homi Davier announced a profit of US $ 15,339. The account has been finally closed with the amount being credited equally to the two co-sponsors of the Congress, the Federation of Zoroastrian Associations of North America (FEZANA) and the Zoroastrian Association of Houston (ZAH), notes Percy Master reporting on their executive committee meeting in Manashni (February 2007), the ZAH newsletter.
The addition brings the Congress 2000 Legacy Fund to over $ 83,000, notes Master triumphantly, and there are plans to raise the amount to $100,000 by the end of summer so that deserving and merit students can be awarded.
A new category of membership — that of patrons — has been added to the Association’s trust deed. The suggestion had been mooted by Sam Polad in the November 2006 annual general meeting, states Master. Almost 10 patron members have already registered themselves, he adds.
