Columnist Ruby Lilaowala received the Ashirwad Society’s trophy for excellence in journalism (English category) from chief guest Nand Kishore Nautial, former editor of Weekly Blitz. Ashirwad Society was formed 15 years ago to promote arts, culture and literature. The annual awards, instituted in the name of the late Prime Minister Rajiv Gandhi, were given this year to seven persons from the media at a function in the University auditorium in the Bombay suburb of Versova, says a press release.
