Homeopath honored

Dr Kate H. Bhamgara was honored with a special citation by the Prayag Homeopathic Welfare Society of Allahabad at a meeting to celebrate the 252th birth anniversary of the founder of homeopathy Dr Samuel Hahnemann on April 10, 2007. Described as a true torchbearer of homeopathy, Bhamgara was later felicitated by The Allahabad Parsee Zoroastrian Anjuman on winning this award at a meeting on May 11, 2007, as per a write-up sent by Capt Homi P. Dandiwalla, the Anjuman’s president. Members of the Anjuman rose to applaud this dedicated doctor of whom the community in Allahabad is justifiably proud for her services to humanity.

Dr Kate Bhamgara: true torchbearer

Bhamgara, who obtained her BSc from Surat and her initial medical qualification from Bombay, went to London’s Royal Homeopathic College and Hospital for postgraduate studies. On her return to India she joined the Jawaharlal Nehru Homeopathic College and Hospital in New Delhi as lecturer and physician. Moving to Allahabad in 1970, she taught as professor of homeopathy at the Lal Bahadur Shastri Homeopathic College and Hospital for about 14 years. Many well-known homeopaths with flourishing practices have been her students. Now a senior homeopath, Bhamgara has her private practice in Allahabad where her clinic is always packed with patients awaiting treatment, the write-up reveals.
Dandiwalla’s report also informs that Bhamgara’s son Rohinton has followed in his mother’s footsteps and is a successful homeopath practicing in Bombay and Surat.
