Reflect and reform

It is good to see our youngsters wearing T-shirts proclaiming ‘We are proud to be Zoroastrians.’ It is an encouraging trend, suggesting awareness of our great religion. But are they sincere by what they mean as Zoroastrian?
Respect and deep study of any religion, does not mean conversion to it, by renouncing one’s own faith. It would be ideal if our generation is proud to be a Parsi Zarathoshti because the main object of any religion is to inculcate humanitarian values and cultural heritage in daily life.
Pride for our renowned Parsi cultural heritage will automatically enhance religious spirit. Parsipanu should reflect in our character and a practical life.
In our song, Chhaiyé Hamé Zarathoshti instead of chhaiyé we must say thaiyé or rahiyé as a pledge. This would lead to the selection of a spouse from one’s own noble community only.
Let us follow the footsteps of our forefathers who were farsighted and staunch in preserving the purity of blood, Buniyad and religion.
