Tarapur assets

Recently my family and I visited Tarapur which has our Parsi Dharamshala.
There is a very pretty Petit Agiary too which is looked after by Ervad Percy Bhada. Both the Cawasji Mobed Parsee Dharamshalla and Agiary are looked after by him almost single-handedly and that too very commendably (Parsi wada, Dist Thane, Taluka Palghar, via Boisar, Tarapur 401502, tel: 952525 280180.). However the Agiary needs an attached toilet. Near the Agiary the vacant land should be developed or cordoned off or some construction should be done to augment income for the trust.
In contrast, the Doongerwadi, about one-and-a-half kilometers away at Savrai village is totally neglected and almost encroached by one non-Parsi lady. The said land is approximately 40 acres and in some way should be developed by the trust or given to individual Parsis for the same. The library which is presently locked should be renovated on a war footing to save some of the rare books and thrown open to the public.
Efforts should be made to save Parsi properties. They could be used for old peoples’ homes. With suburban local trains soon extending to Dahanu, property value in Tarapur will appreciate.
