“The Prescription of Parsis”

As the 77-year-old grandson of Col Kavasji Hormusji Mistri ("The Prescription of Parsis,” Books, Parsiana, August 2003) I was so proud that he had done something for our great community.
He was a doctor and had passed his IMS in England along with six others. He came back to India and joined the British Army. He was in the Third Burmese War in 1885, held a rank of Lt Col and saved many lives on the battlefield. He was awarded a medal for his actions.
After the war he retired and was made a magistrate and Justice of Peace in Thana. I do not know the date when he died.
My elder brother Rumi Homi Mistri was a Lt Col in the Indian Army who died in Srinagar in 1965. I was a commercial "B” licence pilot and flew in India. As there were no jobs I came to England and worked for British Airways and settled in England in 1952.
