Drifting in the ocean
We are like a ship tossing in the middle of the ocean, a ship without a rudder as well as without a captain! If Zoroastrians think that they can just sit around and not do anything about the problems facing our community then I am sorry to say, we are a doomsday away!
Our religion will read something like this:
Once upon a time
Was a religion called Zoroastrianism
Followers of Asho Zarathushtra
Who preached that there is
Only one Ahura Mazda
And to follow the path
Of Humata Hukta Huvarashta
Injustice and inequality are rampant in our community so here is my verse on equality (Asho Zarathushtra’s vision):
We Parsis have our egos
We think they know it all
Please! Try to swallow your pride
As it’s said: ‘Pride goes before a fall.’
Treat everyone equally
No matter who you be
Regardless of skin, color, religion,
Occupation or race
Before we fall from Ahura Mazda’s
Grace.
He must be really sad
To see his teachings
Twisted, turned, inside out
And being misunderstood
So, let’s practice what he stood for
And fight for what is good.
He judges you not by the
Amount of wealth, degree or
Titles you hold
But by your good thoughts, good words,
good deeds
In your gareban you hold.
